Size reference
A513 round size reference
A dimensional reference for common A513 round mechanical tubing sizes. All derived values are theoretical, computed from nominal dimensions — planning numbers, not acceptance criteria.
This section documents common ASTM A513 round mechanical tubing sizes as dimensional references: for each size, the theoretical inside diameter, cross-sectional area, weight per foot, and piece weights at example lengths, all computed with the same formulas as the site's calculator. It states no tolerances, no availability, and no acceptance criteria — the purchased standard and your supplier agreement govern those.

Round mechanical tubing — 15 sizes: a full dimension and weight table from 3/4" to 2" OD, with a detail page per size.
Round is the only shape published in this reference today. Square and rectangular A513 sections exist — see the types overview for how shape interacts with the manufacturing route.
Where the numbers come from
Every derived value uses ID = OD − 2 × wall, area = π/4 × (OD² − ID²), and a nominal steel density of 0.2836 lb/in³ — the same computation as the tube weight calculator. For dimensional requirements and acceptance, see the tolerances guide and the purchased current edition of ASTM A513/A513M.
