Tube mill setup checklist
Use a safety-first preflight and first-piece checklist without publishing machine-specific numerical settings.
Tube-mill investigation must follow site lockout/tagout, guarding, stored-energy, electrical, pinch-point, hot-work, and qualified-person procedures. Never inspect, measure, or adjust moving equipment.
Before threading or startup
Use the machine builder, tooling supplier, and site procedures. Verify authorization, guarding, energy controls, tooling identity and condition, material identity, lubrication or coolant readiness, measurement equipment, and the approved setup record.
- Pre-start safety and line clearance
- Documented tooling and material match
- Approved thread-up and startup procedure
- First-piece inspection and release authority
