From coil to released tube

Typical stages include incoming strip review, uncoiling and joining, accumulation, breakdown forming, fin forming, seam welding, weld treatment, cooling, sizing, straightening, cutting, inspection, and documentation. Actual lines and routes vary.

  • Track material identity and joins
  • Observe forming and edge presentation
  • Verify weld monitoring and post-weld condition
  • Confirm sizing, cut, inspection, and record release

Specification versus process control

ASTM and purchase documents establish product requirements. The producer owns validated process controls. A web guide cannot prescribe weld power, roll positions, squeeze, coolant, or line speed.
